Puerta a la Montaña (Door to the Mountain)
In the buffer zone of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, is located the Puerta a la Montaña Ecotourism Center, in the municipality of La Concordia. The ecotourism center is surrounded by lush vegetation, made up of Tropical Rainforests, Temperate Pine-Oak and Alligatorwood (or American Sweetgum) Forests, and remains of Cloud Forest. In Puerta a la Montaña you can enjoy accommodation and restaurant services; you can also practice activities like mountain biking, hiking and birdwatching; take tours around coffee plantations and practice rural tourism. To date, a total of 411 species of migratory and resident birds have been recorded in this ecotourism center.
