Moxviquil
Moxviquil is the authentic synonym of a learning community for sustainability. This private reserve is located north of the Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) of San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. The Temperate Pine-Oak Forests are protected there, and the message of their importance is spread, highlighting some of their most attractive inhabitants; and it is possible to enjoy them in the paths and gardens specially designed for that purpose. This site is the favorite of birdwatchers and bird photographers who want to enjoy the spectacular hummingbirds like the White-eared Hummingbird, the Rivoli’s Hummingbird, the Garnet-throated Hummingbird, the Mexican Green Violetear, or the Sparkling-tailed Hummingbird, to mention some of them. Species from Chiapas’ mountains can be observed too, like the Blue-throated Motmot, the Mountain Trogon, the Hairy Woodpecker, the Gray Silky or the Spotted Rufous-sided Towhee and the Cinnamon-bellied Flowerpiercer.
