Palenque National Park and Archaeological Site
The Palenque National Park, located in the northeastern extreme of Chiapas, has an extension of 1,772 hectares; it protects Tropical Rainforests, rivers, streams and grasslands that surround a World Heritage Site: the Mayan City of Palenque. In this Protected Natural Area, which is home to more than 440 species of tropical migratory and resident birds, you can enjoy a deep dive into Chiapas jungle, as well as into the culture and nature of the Mayan world. Here, you will find typical birds of the tropical regions of the Americas: Toucans, Macaws, Parrots, Hummingbirds, Trogons, Motmots, Flycatchers, and many more.
